Grief Support

Bereavement services are provided to families and caregivers for not only patients served by Pilgrimage Hospice, but those individuals in the community grieving for the loss of a loved one.
Bereavement services may include:
​
  • Personal counseling visits
  • Listening to the stories of survivors
  • Providing information and answering questions about grief
  • Grief support groups
  • Memorial services
  • Caregiver support for facility staff
  • Bereavement support prior to the loss of a loved one (anticipatory grief)
  • Referral to community resources as needed​

Bereavement services are provided to caregivers and family members as part of the hospice benefit. Services are provided as long as needed, but no less than 13 months following the loss of a loved one.​

If you have recently lost a loved one, or know someone who is struggling with the loss of a loved one and would like additional support, call us at 412.489.6874 and ask to speak to the Bereavement Coordinator. ​
